Intelligent nutrients anti-aging serum review

Intelligent nutrients probably has one of the largest ranges of organic beauty products out there. I have been very pleased with everything that I have tried so far. The products are USDA certified organic and are cruelty free, plus it doesn't hurt that the packaging is pleasing to the eye.

I have been taking my time with this review, as I think it took me a little while to truly appreciate the beauty of intelligent nutrients anti-aging serum.

I have found it to be a nice product from the beginning ( I have been using it on an of for about 8 months now) but it didn't feel special until I had a bad case of flu and my skin just started to look dry (a bit of a shock with my naturally oily and at best normal skin type) but after two applications of this my skin was back to normal.

About the product: This is an oil blend, safflower and argan oil being the first two ingredients. Both are light wonderful oils but the reason why this serum is so excellent are all the antioxidant oils that follow (Intelligent Nutrients even a have a special name for this blend of oils, they call it Intellimune seed oil complex). The ones that catch my eye are red grape seed oil that has anti-inflammatory properties as well as antioxidant that is more powerful than vit C and E; red raspberry seed oil that is again an antioxidant, has natural SPF properties and can help with rashes and eczema; pumpkin seed oil is rich in zinc and magnesium, and helps skin to regulate its own sebum production; carrot seed oil helps with UV damage and wrinkles.

Ingredients:
Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil,1 Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil,1 Vitis Vinifera (Red Grape) Seed Oil,1,2 Rubus Idaeus (Red Raspberry) Seed Oil,1,2 Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil,1,2 Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil,1,2 Nigella Sativa (Black Cumin) Seed Oil,1,2 Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Oil,1 Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Oil,1 Helichrysum Angustifolium (Everlasting) Flower Oil,1 Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Seed Oil,1 Canaga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Flower Oil,1 Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Flower Extract,1 Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Flower Oil,1 Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Oil,1 Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Flower Oil,1 Cistus Ladaniferus Oil,1 Beeswax/Cera Alba,1 Limonene,1,3 Linalool,1,3 Geraniol,1,3 Citronellol,1,3 Farnesol,1,3 Benzyl Benzoate,1,3 Benzyl Salicylate,1,3 Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
1 Certified Organic
2 Antioxidant Intellimune® Seed Oil Complex
3 Naturally Occurring Component of Organic Essential Oil Blend

The consistency is light and it absorbs well (I normally need just the one pump smoothed over damp skin) yet leaves the skin feeling silky smooth. On those occasions that my skin looks drier, I can see an almost plumping effect after applying this. I don't have visible wrinkles yet so can't be a good judge about that but it does make my skin feel much smoother than any other serum/cream that I have tried.

It has really dark colour in the bottle (label covers most of the bottle but there is a little gap) and once out it looks green, but there is no colour transfer when the serum is massaged in. I think that it smell wonderful, ever so faintly sweet but mostly herbal, sometimes reminds me of dry cranberries when I apply it. The fragrance does not linger.

It is suitable for all skin types including mature/dry, sensitive and oily. I was a bit apprehensive with it at first as it does have a lot going on, but I have not had any sensitivities to it. For oilier skin types you will not need any additional moisturiser, drier skin types will (as it is a serum and would most likely be too light on its own). Oily skin types should use it only once per day (am or pm your choice) other skin types can use it twice a day.

It has been really good under make-up. I tend to use it most during cold weather, but it is also great after long periods in the sun. It just seems to be great at keeping skin in balance during weather extremes. This and the Stark oil has been the most effective oils I have ever used with visible results.

It is the most expensive skincare product in Intelligent Nutrients range but the bottle is 50 ml and it stays fresh for a year after opening, plus it has a pump with very good control that always gives me just enough product, so there isn't any waist.

If you are under 25 you don't need this yet (I honestly think you shouldn't start with anti-ageing products until late twenties unless you are seeing some signs of premature ageing) but if you are in your thirties you really should add this to your routine, even if you will be applying it just a few times a week (but obviously you will get more benefits from using it more regularly).

  1. This sounds nice - I have really dry skin so anything that might help out with that is worth a look. How much is it? x

  2. Glad that you have a good review of this oil. I am really fond of the antioxidants they use but heard that it might be too heavy for skin type like mine. Really curious to try this out and I love the packaging too!

    1. I think this one is really good for all skin types but for oilier skin you just need to use it less often that is all (on the plus side it will last longer because of that) xx
