Real Purity blush

Despite the fact that I seem to have an endless supply of lipsticks, I have to admit that blush is actually my favourite part of makeup. Just something about the way it can bring a sparkle to your eyes and make your face appear more rested. My first makeup brush was a blusher brush. And although I do have some cream blushes that I adore, it has always been about pressed powder for me. The fact is my skin tends to be on the oily side and I also really like the ritual of applying blusher with a brush, just a few strokes over the apples of my cheeks and voila.

When it comes to lipstick it seems like I want to have every shade there is, but with blusher is a totally different story (I still want some variety, I just can't help that), I tend to have 3-4 colours with one being my go to.

Since going natural I have struggled to replace that go to colour. It had to be a mixture of pink and coral, on the warmer side and also had to be able to go from subtle to a bit more bright. I do love a pop of colour on my cheeks, so I don't want it to be overly subtle, however I also don't want to look like a clown or like I am running a fever. And to make it harder I was also avoiding certain ingredients that tend to disagree with my skin.

Real purity blushes come in an amazing range of colours and there where a few that caught my eye, in the end I settled on Shrimp.

And I am over the moon that I did, as it is everything I was looking for. The colour goes on smoothly and is very buildable so you can vary the intensity as you please.

It lasts all day so there is no need for touch ups, and to top it all off it only has six ingredients.

The packaging is functional and simple, I have to say that I prefer that it doesn't come in a bulky mirror compact (the mirror only gets dirty and its always way to small to see anything in it anyway). It is also very compact, which I like as it easily fits even in a small makeup bag.

I have been using it for about two months and have not had any irritations, I love how the colour looks. It doesn't appear chalky or powdery like some powder products do, just pure colour. I have to admit I have not tried many natural pressed powder blushes simply because of the ingredients, but I have no problem comparing the performance of real purity to Mac, I find it to be just as good.

Despite having a low profile internationally, real purity has been around for awhile. I love the fact that this company is family owned and has been operating for four generations, makes me feel like they know what they are doing.
