Spring cleaning my skincare

Judging by the constant chirruping of birds outside of my window, spring is here. Boy am I happy about that, I am going to throw away most of my clothes and treat myself to a whole new wardrobe... Well actually no I will not be doing that, a proponent of slow fashion over here. What I am doing however, is switching out my skincare.

Through the winter I was testing so many products, that I feel my skin really deserves a break. I am introducing some lighter products, and decluttering the rest of my routine.

Here is what I am keeping:

Cleansers.

My trusted konjac sponge saw me through the winter and is still going strong. I absolutely adore these and really don't know what I would do without one. I know I have promised to do a more detailed post on them, and it is coming very soon, honest word. I use it in the morning and evenings by itself, and sometimes in the evenings with May Lindstrom Honey mud.

The Honey mud is my go to cleanser when I wear makeup, or my skin feels like it needs a deeper cleanse. Do not think that this is a makeup remover, it's not. I use it as a second stage cleanser on the days I wear makeup.

Toners.

I have mentioned the S.W. Basics toner a few times before. I still love it just as much, but I no longer use it daily, because the Konjac sponge has toning benefits. I do use it every time I am not using the sponge. It is the best toner I have tried, but now a bottle lasts me a lot longer.

I always like to have a spray toner/hydrosol on hand for use with oils, or just for general freshening up. Now normally it would be my trusted rose water, but since I have a bottle of May Lindstrom Jasmine Gardens, it has naturally taken its place. This product is meant to be released sometime in the spring. So far I am enjoying it.

And this is new:

Dahliana Naturals seabuckthorn berry crème. Ok so I don't actually purchase face creams all that often, but this one had me intrigued. You can use it as both day or night cream, and at the moment I have designated it for daytime use. I have been using it for just over a week, and I will reserve my judgements for later.

May Lindstrom Blue cocoon. Hm it seems that this spring I am using a lot of ML products. I first tried blue cocoon in the winter, but since I was using so many different products already, I felt like I needed to give it a bit of time before properly introducing it into my routine. As this balm was so light, I thought it would work well even in warmer weather. Judging by the way my skin has responded, I am not wrong.

Body deli Enzyme mask. In the past year I have mainly been using clay face masks. I really fancied a change and this honey based mask seemed perfect. As it is a brightening mask I was expecting some sort of tingling, but no, it felt comfortable through the whole 20 minutes, and there was no redness once I washed it off. Really pleased with it, but it is so darn hard not to lick your face, it just smells absolutely delicious.

Anyone else changing their routine for the spring? What products are you keeping and what are the new ones? Let me know in the comments.

    1. I have to confess that out of all ML, honey mud is the one I like the most. I just want to give Dahliana a bit longer so I can see how well it performs over time xx
